anyone who is as advanced as mir on the ground in BJJ would never stay standing. thats like saying i study bjj and it useless I cant use it on a guy who has trained way less than me.
btw: i’m glad Brock humbled Mir he needed it. Mir was talking too much trash who knows what went on back stage.
Because as good as Mir is on the ground as a BJJ, Brock is that much better on the ground as a wrestler and could easily put Mir in a position where his BJJ was negated. He had a better chance standing with him. While Brock does have some devistating punches he is also slower then Mir when it comes to throwing them, so Mir thought he was better off throwing punches with him since he could bob and weave around the punches and throw some quicker ones then Lesnar.
because Brock’s ground game consists of him laying on top of him, and not really doing much of anything. Herb Dean had to tell him repeatedly to keep working, or he was going to stand them up.
if you actually watched UFC 100, which i doubt, you shouldve noticed that Mir rocked Lesnar with an elbow and a flying knee.
He was trying to be a hard ***. Strength is a big part of ground game and lesnar is much stronger as well. Btw I **** the way lesnar acts but he deserved to win that fight
Well, maybe you should ask him why he chose to stand up. Mir didn’t talk as much trash as Lesnar did but he had mutual respect for him as a fighter while Brock went off and pulled out the retarded WWE smack talk and stupidity. With his actions after the fight, he ruined his credibility. I know if it was the other way around where Mir was the one laughing in Lesnar’s face after the fight, Lesnar would’ve made a big stink about it. Even he admitted to being a sore loser which is quite ridiculous because he’s a grown man not a 5 year old(well maybe he is a little bit of a 5 year old after his stupid antics).
He was afraid of the Shooting Star Press.

Its definitely NOT just based on skill, although submitting someone requires tons of it.
Mir wanted to stand up because he is a much more technical stand-up fighter and still has the knock out power he needed to win.
While as soon as someone like lesnar grabs you, with all that strength and weight; you are pretty much screwed.

He gambled and lost, he was just lucky the first time he fought Lesnar.
