The fighter made his claim based on this report:
Who cares? Isn’t that more of a political question anyway?
McCain FOR kids participating in mixed martial arts? Ha, I doubt it.
When the UFC was still pretty new, he wasn’t for ANYONE participating in it.
IIRC, on an episode of “Larry King Live”, He claimed it was a bloodsport and encouraged crippling/maiming opponents. Ken Shamrock was also on the show and countered that in boxing–which McCain is a fan of– they suffer repeated blows to the head and the brain’s bouncing around in there.
McCain didn’t even have a good answer to “So why don’t you stop boxing”. lol
Then again, that was in the 90s, so maybe nowadays McCain isn’t as ignorant about the UFC and MMA as he was back then.
