What should I do to be an MMA fighter, and should I even try it?

mma fitness
Cody asked:

I’m almost 15 years old, 5′6″, and weigh 123-124. I bench 130, clean, 125, and squat 200 at least (not sure.) I want to know if i should become an MMA fighter, and what I need to do for it to be possible. I have been following my school’s football workout and the men’s fitness magazine ufc workout that is online. Thank You.

ask yourself this question: Do you like to get punched repeatedly in the face?
If your answer is yes, then join MMA, if the answer is no, then do not

just keep working out, wait until you graduate highschool, then sign up for training for mma. im not sure what exactly these places are called or anything but i do know 1 person from highschool signed up for mma here in nj. he had to leave because of injury. just to let you know, it is very expensive.

don’t bother. your clogging up the scene for us people who dedicate ourselves to the sport/art to be noticed and given a chance. here you are, not even sure if you want to. yet, poor, skilled, young kids, who bust their ***** won’t get seen beacause you wanna go prance around making talent scouts look your way….disgusting

the best thing you could do is join your wrestling team. maybe take a jui-jitsu class. wrestling is the one discipline that could save you from being beatdown. if you learned a little jui-jitsu to go with it, you could also finish fights in no time. it takes lots of time and lots of practice. not for those with a weak chin. you ever been hit by a guy twice your size? were you knocked out? if so, forget it.

because you are young i recommend you to train kyokushin (if you dont know what it is check out on youtube) because you can’t gat badly injured and you will feel how to take punch and get the conditioning, agility and musclesand learn the stand up part of mma, then if you are really good you start training mma

Foot ball work outs are most likely bad news for a fighter. Do it if you don’t mind getting hit. It’s just a hobby. You don’t have to go fight in mma shows unless you find out your good. If your not good you will still be fine . It’s no big deal. No one is trying to actually kill you and you probably will just get bumps and bruises . Broken noses **** the most in my opinion . and muscle bruises if you like to lift weights and stuff like that
